ANAMBRA HOS TASKS LANDS MINISTRY STAFF ON ETHICS, ACCOUNTABILITY, PROACTIVE SERVICE

The Anambra State Head of Service, Ngozi Anuli Iwouno, Esq, mni, has charged staff of the Ministry of Lands to anchor their work on ethics, accountability and prompt service delivery as government pushes reforms in land administration.

She gave the charge on June 3, 2026 in Awka during a one-day training for the staff of Ministry of Lands. She said that Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo’s administration is repositioning land management to support investment, urban growth and good governance, but the outcome will depend largely on the attitude of civil servants.

According to her, land administration touches every area of development from job creation to infrastructure and family stability which is why government is investing in digital systems and process reforms to make services faster and more transparent.

The Head of Service reminded officers that public trust is built through conduct, not policy documents. She urged them to avoid delays, shun abuse of office, and treat every citizen with respect.

“The reforms we are driving will only succeed if you, the officers, take ownership. Be guided by integrity, be accountable for your actions, and be proactive in solving problems for the people you serve,” HOS told participants.

The session, themed “Institutionalizing Excellence in Land Administration: Building a Culture of Commitment, Ethics and Proactive Service,” forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen capacity and sustain progress recorded in the sector.
