ANAMBRA STRENGTHENS ANTI-CORRUPTION DRIVE AS HEAD OF SERVICE COMMITS TO REFORMS

Anambra State has reinforced its anti-corruption drive following the commitment of the Head of Service, Ngozi Anuli Iwouno, Esq., mni, to fully implement reforms promoting transparency, accountability and efficient public service.

Iwouno made the pledge on Thursday, July 2, while speaking during a capacity building training for the Anambra State Anti-Corruption Strategy (ANSACS) and State Service Delivery Transparency Initiatives (SSDTI), State Steering Committee at Finotel Hotel, Awka.

The programme was organised by the Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption (RoLAC) Team, funded by the European Union, to strengthen institutional capacity, promote transparency, improve accountability and enhance effective service delivery across Anambra State.

Addressing participants, the Head of Service assured that she and all Permanent Secretaries would convene to carefully study the implementation template, simplify its provisions and ensure effective application throughout the State Civil Service.

She explained that the objective remains fostering transparency, promoting accountability and delivering efficient public services that meet citizens' expectations, while strengthening institutional integrity and enhancing confidence in government across Anambra State.

The Head of Service commended the Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption Team for organising the capacity building programme, describing it as a timely initiative that would significantly strengthen ongoing public sector reforms.

She also specially appreciated the European Union for funding what she described as a powerful programme to curb corruption in the State Civil Service and Anambra at large, while sustaining transparent governance.
